Directions to Emory University

Taking MARTA (Atlanta’s citywide rail and bus system)

If you will be taking MARTA, you may call 404.848.4711 for bus schedules or check out MARTA’s website (http://www.itsmarta.com). The Emory campus is bounded by Clifton Road and North Decatur Road.


From Downtown

Take Peachtree to Ponce de Leon. Turn East on Ponce, toward Decatur. Turn left off Ponce onto Briarcliff Road going north. Turn right onto North Decatur Road. The campus will be on the left.


Coming North on I-85

Take the North Druid Hills Road exit (Exit 89). Turn right off the ramp onto North Druid Hills. Turn right at the first major intersection onto Briarcliff. Go through the intersection of Briarcliff and Lavista. Turn left onto Clifton Road. Take Clifton all the way to North Decatur Road. Turn right onto North Decatur Road and turn right into the campus at the second light. 


Coming South on I-85

Take the Clairmont/Emory exit (Exit 91). Turn left off the ramp onto Clairmont. Take Clairmont four miles to North Decatur Road. Turn right onto North Decatur Road at the light. The main entrance to campus will be on your right when you see a large Methodist church on the right and a restaurant called Everybody’s on the left.


Coming North on I-75

When I-75 and I-85 separate, take I-85 North. See "Coming North on I-85."


Coming South on I-75

From I-75 South, exit to I-85 North. Take the North Druid Hills Road exit (Exit 89). Turn right off the ramp onto North Druid Hills. See "Coming North on I-85."


Coming West on I-20

Take I-20 West to I-285 North. Take the 78 West exit (Exit 39A)and stay in the left lane. Highway 78 becomes Scott Boulevard. Turn right off Scott Boulevard onto North Decatur Road. Go through the intersection of North Decatur and Clairmont roads. The main entrance to the campus will be on your right when you see a large Methodist church on the right and a restaurant called Everybody’s on the left.

Coming East on I-20

Take I-20 East to 75-85 North. When I-75 and I-85 separate, take 85 North. See "Coming North on I-85."

Coming South on Georgia 400

Either take I-285 East to I-85 South and see "Coming South on I-85," or take the Sidney Marcus Boulevard exit. Turn left onto Sidney Marcus to Buford Highway. Turn left onto Buford Highway and almost immediately turn right onto Cheshire Bridge/Lenox Road. Take Cheshire Bridge under I-85 and continue past the Tara Theater to Lavista Road. Turn left and take Lavista to Briarcliff Road. Turn right onto Briarcliff at the next major intersection. Turn left onto Clifton Road. Take Clifton all the way to North Decatur Road. Turn right onto North Decatur Road and turn right into the campus at the second light.

Coming West From the Stone Mountain Expressway (Highway 78)

Inside I-285, Highway 78 merges with Highway 29, becoming Scott Boulevard. Turn right off Scott Boulevard onto North Decatur Road. Go through the intersection of North Decatur and Clairmont roads. The main entrance to the campus will be on your right when you see a large Methodist church on the right and a restaurant called Everybody’s on the left. 

Coming West From Lawrenceville Highway (Highway 29)

Inside I-285, Highway 29 merges with Highway 78, becoming Scott Boulevard. Turn right off Scott Boulevard onto North Decatur Road. Go through the intersection of North Decatur and Clairmont roads. The main entrance to the campus will be on your right when you see a large Methodist church on the right and a restaurant called Everybody’s on the left.

Coming from Atlanta

Take I-20 East toward Augusta. Take Exit 90 to merge onto Access Road/GA-12 E/US-278 East. (It is 23.9 miles from the intersection of I-285 and I-20 to Exit 90.) Continue to follow GA-12 E/US-278 East (1.3 miles). Turn left at Emory Street, NW/GA-81 N (1.2 miles). Turn left at Hamill Street (384 feet).
